July GlossyBox Canada

Well, after last month my expectations for GlossyBox were not too high. This is only my second month receiving this beauty box subscription and it was going to be my deciding box - whether I should  keep the subscription or cancel it.

I received my box this morning and was very impressed! Lots of full sized products and the products were much more suited to my taste and colour tone. For those of your wondering I received V1. Below is a photo of my box!

Again the box was beautifully presented and very full! I haven't tried any of the products yet, so I may do a review after I do have the chance to try them out. In my box there was the following:
  1.  A full size Burt`s Bees Lip Shimmer, in Cherry - (love the mint scent and the colour!) - $5.99
  2. A full size John Freida Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Controlled Lightening Spray - $13.99
  3. A full size Dove VisibleCare Softening Creme Body Wash - $5.99
  4. A full size Zoya Nail Polish in the colour Wednesday - (love the colour!) - $8.00
  5. A 30mL sample of Alessandro International Pedix Feet Heel Rescue Balm - $ 5.99
  6. 4 BeautySoClean Cosmetic Sanitizer Wipes - $1.04
Total Value:  $41.00!
(The price values reflect the product sizes that I received in my GlossyBox.)
I am loving everything about this month's box! There is not one product that I will not use, and I got great value for $15! I'm also excited because I haven't tried any of these products yet! (Even though I did receive a 30mL sample of the John Freida Spray from the Glow Pack Giveaways, I haven't tried it out yet.) I'm curious to see what brunettes receive instead of the John Freida Go Blonder Spray! - (Check out this blog to find out what's in the V2 box and this blog to find out what is in the V3 box!) After this month's box, I am definitely keeping this subscription!

If you want to try GlossyBox, use the code GLOSSY50 to save $1.50 on your first box!

  1. Thanks for the review! I'm a brunette, so I can't wait to see what I get instead of the "Go Blonder" too! I love the colours of the lip shimmer and nail polish. One thing I gotta say about Glossybox is that they seem to be relaly good at picking out universally flattering colours. I used to subscribe to Glymm and had to cancel because almost EVERY makeup item they sent in the 6 months I subscribed to them was not a flattering colour for me.

    1. Check out this blog to have a look at the brunettes' John Freida product! http://canadianbeautyreviews.blogspot.ca/2012/07/glossybox-july-2012.html

Also, I couldn't agree more about GlossyBox selecting flattering colours this month! I was really disappointed with the Minx coloured Cover Girl Lip Product last month

  2. I got this, but my lip shimmer was a god awful purple and the mail polish is neon orange. I definitely wont be using either

    1. That`s too bad, I got the Minx CG product last month and felt the same way! On the bright side orange is very in right now and Burt`s Bees makes great products...perhaps you could gift them?

    1. I personally don't mind dove products. I know a lot of people complain about drug store brand products, but I would rather a full size product of a drug store sample than a tiny sample from a company I have never heard of :)

  4. Amanda are you sure you're V1? Someone else said they were V1 also but they were the box with the orange polish (Nevada, I think, it was called?)

I hope you're correct because that blue polish is my favorite of the four colours, and I'm V1 too!

  5. To the comment above, I think the V1 is for the hair product, the nail polish and lip color seem to be random

By the way, love the review! Thanks!

    1. I agree! After reading several bloggers posts, it seems that the lip shimmer and nail polish colours vary, but overall the products are the same :)

  6. Nice box! Lots of full size products! I didn't even get a Burt's Bees lip product, instead I have a 5ml sample of cream for dry skin. My John Frieda product is Frizz-Ease and a bigger sample than Canadian beauty but not even full size... It's a tiny bit disappointing but I guess I can be happy they are all usable products. But in the end, I have 2 full size products and 2 tiny sample size (hand cream and wipes) with 2 good sized samples. Anywho, it is what it is! I appreciate that they customize the boxes. :)

My post is coming up soon, when I finish writing it. lol

    1. That's too bad that you didn't receive the Burt's Bees product :( What brand of hand cream did you get? It is nice to have products picked based on your individual beauty needs, and to have several variations of the box so when it arrives it's a bit of a surprise! Can't wait to read your blog! :)

    2. I put up the post on my blog. The cream is by Eucerin. I can't remember what the Glossybox profile questions were, but maybe this product is for my eczema? If it makes a difference I'll be a happy camper because my Aveeno (has oatmeal like this cream) is helping only a small bit and I don't want to get into cortisone creams which I'm close to right now.

    3. I have eczema too and use Eucerin quite a bit! It's really good :)
